Charlotte Agnes Cook, 71, of Tomball, TX passed away peacefully Friday July 24, 2020 at home with her family by her side.
Our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother also known as Grammy/Gram was born November 28, 1948 in Corpus Christi, TX to Mary Agnes Dubrava and Harlan Thomas Stanley.
Her family lived in Freeport, TX where she lived with her mother, two brothers, and 2 sisters.
At the age of 6 she developed polio. With the help of God, doctors, family and her strong will she survived and lead a very successful life.
At the age of 17 she moved to Dallas, TX to a rehabilitation center for people with disabilities. There she learned how to live on her own as an independent woman.
She later married and had two children who she loved dearly. She also had a bonus daughter who was her niece, Dana Heaton.
In 1982 she and her children moved to Clute, TX. She went to college and got an associate’s degree in mental health and graduated Phi Theta Kappa. She then worked as a substance abuse counselor.
She enjoyed writing poems, scrap booking, collecting dolls, and angels, e-bay shopping, painting ceramics, and listening to music.
Charlotte was a very strong women in the Catholic faith. She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Duncanville, TX and St. Mary’s Star of the Sea in Freeport. TX, for many years.
Charlotte had a great love for her children, and grand children, great grand children and her dachshund Emme.
She was preceded in death by her mother Mary Agnes Dubrava, father Harlen Thomas Stanley and brother Harlan Stanley.
She leaves behind her children; Shelly Lowe (Hoyt), Dana Heaton (Dennis), son; Benny Cook (Victoria), sisters; Kathy Pardue, Mary Caraway, brothers; Richard Stanley, Five grandchildren; Steffen Girod (fiancé Devan Venglar), Gunnar Girod (Alissa), Katy Lowe, Haley Lowe (boyfriend Brady Woods), Lucas Cook, Four great grand children; Lydia, Easton, Karsyn, Annalise, and coming soon, Parker, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be Thursday, July 30, 2020 at Stroud Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00. A funeral Mass will be Friday, July 31, 2020 at St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Freeport, TX at 2:00 with an internment at Restwood Memorial Park.
