James Hamilton (Jim) Anderson, 69, passed away Tuesday January 5, 2021 in Lake Jackson, Texas with family by his side.
Jim was born in El Paso, Texas on March 30, 1951 to Harry William Anderson and Emily Mercedes (Butler) Anderson. He graduated from Texas Tech University in 1973 with a bachelor’s degree in Zoology.
After graduation, he married his wife Patsy R. Anderson on November 29, 1974 and moved to Lake Jackson where he worked for Dow for 40 years and became an active member of the community.
Throughout his life, Jim always focused on using his time and energy in service of those who needed it. Jim was an avid craftsman and woodworker and used his talents volunteering with Habitat for Humanity and UM Army. He was very proud of having built over 200 houses with Habitat for Humanity. He was also an active member of Chapelwood Methodist church where he taught Sunday school.
Jim was preceded in death by his wife Pat, his father Harry, and his brother Thomas Anderson. He is survived by his mother Emily Armstrong and her husband, Ronald, his sister Cathy Richards, his son Jonathan Anderson, his son Ryan Anderson and his wife Keri, and his grandchildren Conor, Nolan, and Etta Claire Anderson.
Visitation will be at Stroud Funeral Home on 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, January 9, 2021. Graveside services at Merriman Cemetery in Ranger, Texas on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at 2:00 P.M.
