NANCY RUTH HIGHTOWER
MAY 16, 1931 - JANUARY 16, 2010Nancy Hightower, 78, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, January 16, 2010. She was surrounded by her loving family and her passing was a very peaceful transition. She will be greatly missed.
She had been a resident of Woodlake Nursing Home since suffering a stroke in September of 2000.
Nancy is survived by her five children, Joseph Lindell Hightower (Debbie), Pamela J. Koenning (Gerald), Nancy Jo Hays (J.T.), Cathy Comley and Holly L. Barnett (Robert); grandchildren, Aaron Hightower (Courtney), Patsy Martinez (Ernie), Cynthia Koobs (Zeb), J. W. Koenning (Julie), Toni Kersey (Henry), Vandetta Hays, Wendy Hays (Danny), Shane Comley, D. J. Robinson and Tiffany Robinson; 15 great-grandchildren; and many other loving relatives and many wonderful friends.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Joseph Ray; mother and step-father, Minnie and Jake Eskridge; father, A. Truitt; son-in-law, Anthony Ray Comley, Sr.; and grandson, Anthony Ray Comley, Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 21, 2010, at Stroud Funeral Home with Bro. Jeff McDonald officiating.
Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 20, 2010, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to her church, Temple Baptist of Clute.
The family would like to thank the staff of Woodlake Nursing Home for the care given to their mother.
