W.A. "BRINK" BRINKMEYER

JULY 26, 1927 - MARCH 12, 2010

W.A. "Brink" Brinkmeyer, 82, of Jones Creek was called to his Eternal Home on Friday, March 12, 2010. He was born July 26, 1927 in Brenham, Texas to William and Matilda Brinkmeyer. He was married to wife, Aleene for 62 years. He was blessed with four children, Alan and Patty Brinkmeyer of Brazoria, Darwin Brinkmeyer of Jones Creek, Deanna and Ken Eixman of Jones Creek, and Phil and Beth Brinkmeyer of Rowlett, Texas. He had seven grandchildren, Katina Cleveland, Melissa Jo Brinkmeyer, Stacie and Lauren Andrews, Victoria Leija, Lucas Brinkmeyer, Chris Brinkmeyer, and Kade Eixman. He had one great grandson, Dakota Cleveland. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Joseph and Walter Brinkmeyer; sister, Elizabeth Kettler; and Granddaughter, Stephanie Andrews.

Brink was an active member of Freeport 1st Assembly of God Church for 28 years. He served as Sunday School Superintendent for several years and served on the church board 25 years under four pastors. He served in the US Army, retired from the Houston Lighting and Power Company after 41 years, and was a member of IBEW Local Union 66. Brink loved the outdoors, camping, storytelling, telling jokes, and dancing with his wife. He especially liked eating homemade cookies and coffee for breakfast that his wife prepared. His main joy in life was living for the Lord.

The family will receive friends at Stroud Funeral Home, 538 N. Brazosport Blvd, Clute, TX 77531 on Monday, March 15th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 16th, 2010 at Freeport 1st Assembly of God Church at 1:00 p.m.. Graveside service will follow at Gulf Prairie Cemetery in Jones Creek. Pallbearers will be Drew Ryder, Rev. Jack Cameron, CJ Marsh, Parlon Morton, Bill Leitch, Ron Damain, James Kaiser, Christopher Ballew, Blas Perez, Joe Gonzales, and David Aaron King. The services will be led by Pastors, Claude Johnson, Donald Gibson, and Kris Pounds. Memorials may be made to “The Building Fund” at Freeport 1st Assembly of God Church, 900 South Brazosport Blvd. Freeport, Texas 77541.
