Sherman Lee Estes left us to join his Heavenly Father and his beloved mother and father and lots of family and friends who left us before him. Sherman left us one month shy of his 79th birthday after a long battle with pulmonary fibrosis.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Barbara Estes; daughters, Leigh Ann Estes, Redonda Faye and her husband, Marvin, Tonya Robertson and her husband, James; his grandchildren, Jared Robertson and his wife, Candice, Stephanie Freeman and her husband, Clint, Shelby Angelone and AJ Angelone; his great-grandchildren, Jake, Kaylor, Audrey and Jemma Freeman, Laylee Angelone, Bonnimarie and Amelia Robertson.
Sherman loved his family and his wife dearly.
Sherman was a beloved coach, driver’s education teacher and friend to countless Brazoria County residents. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Lake Jackson and a retiree of Dow Chemical after forty years. He owned Estes Driving School in Clute for sixteen years were he rid the streets of inexperienced drivers.
Services are as follows: Family will receive visitors at the Lake Jackson Church of Christ at 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 5, 2020. Celebration of life will begin at 11:00 a.m. Following services in Lake Jackson, Sherman will be put to rest with graveside services in Grapeland, Texas at the City Cemetery at 5:00 p.m.
Serving as pallbearers are Jared and James Robertson, A. J. and Lenny Angelone, Clint and Jake Freeman.
Honorary pallbearers include Marvin Buckner, of Houston, Calvin Stacks, Larry Parks and Willman Lewis, of Lake Jackson, Stanley Skidmore and Allen Cheatham, of Grapeland.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations in honor of Sherman Estes to the Lake Jackson Church of Christ.
