Esther Medina Calvillo, affectionately referred to as Yaya, 92, of Tampico, Mexico was called home to be with her Lord and Savior. She passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family Monday, March 4th, 2019.
She was the daughter of Rafael and Rosa Balleza Medina. She is preceded in death by her young son, Jesus Ruvalcaba, her mother and father, her 10 siblings, and granddaughter Chelsea RoseAnn Milne. She is survived by her sons, Daniel Ruvalcaba (Juanita), Armando Ruvalcaba (Maria Elena), Antonio Medina (Kim), Felipe Calvillo, and Raymond Calvillo Sr and her daughters Anjelica Esparza (Jorge), Rosemary Calvillo Dent (Robert) and Edna Calvillo Milne (David), 19 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Yaya lived a very rich and full life. She was a beloved grandmother, she poured her love and care in to her cherished grandchildren. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, traveling, cooking with her family, and tending her beautiful rose bushes. She was blessed to achieve her dream of journeying to Jerusalem and dwell in the place where her Savior, Jesus walked. In her later years she was active in the senior citizen community and in her Church – Primera Iglesia Bautista De Clute. She will be greatly missed by her family and all that knew her.
Please join us as we come together to celebrate a life well lived and say good bye to our precious Yaya. Services will be held Thursday, March 7th, 2019, at Stroud funeral home in Clute. Visitation from 9:30-11:00. Services will commence at 11:00, internment to follow with a small graveside ceremony at Restwood. A reception will follow at Primera Iglesia Bautista De Clute, all are welcome.
