On Tuesday, December 4th, 2018, we mourn the loss and celebrate the life of James Thurston Andrus, also known by friends and family as Fat or ” Fats”. The cherished memories we hold in our hearts of his love and laughter and the remembrance of stories from days past will forever live in hearts forever. He will greatly be missed.
James was born on October 31, 1936, in North Zulch, Texas to James Tonnie and Willie Lola Hazel Andrus. As a young man he enlisted in the United States Air Force. During his travels, he fell in love with his lifelong soul mate, Emma Lee.
James is survived by his wife, Emma Lee Andrus and together they had four children, James Thurston Andrus Jr. Laurie Lee Knight, Rolinda Stanel Barham and Michael Leonard Andrus. Also loved by grandchildren, Stephanie Salazar, Britthany Coe, Christopher Hallmark and Shawn Andrus, and many great grandchildren.
James was a very skilled man , he received a pilot’s license and was a pipefitter, welder for the local 211.
Service will be held at Stroud Funeral Home, on Friday December 7, 2018 viewing starting at 3:00 p.m. followed by a service at 4:00 p.m. Flowers and plants can be sent to Stroud Funeral Home, where service will be held in Clute, Texas.
