Stanley Casner Sr.


Stanley Casner, Sr. 85 years young, born April 4, 1935 in Saratoga, TX to Clyde and Carmen Casner, he passed away on July 14, 2020, surrounded by family and friends. He is preceded in death by, his parents, his wife, of 59 years, Frances Love Casner, and brother , Harold Casner.

Stanley leaves behind, a son, Stan Casner Jr. and wife Ruth, from Santa Fe,  Daughter, Regina Gaye Landeche, from Danbury, three grandchildren; Amanda Brock, from Dilley,  Adrianne and husband Jeremy Boyer, from Afton, VA. Trey Stanley III Casner, from Bayou Vista, six great-grandchildren; Allyssa and Mandie Thompson, from Dilley, TJ Stanley IV Casner, Santa Fe, Emma Ruth, Blayne Anaken, and Novalie Frances Boyer, of Afton,VA. and many nieces and nephews.

Stanley graduated high school in Navasota in 1953 joining the Air Force shortly after, Stan was a Loadmaster on cargo planes, served in Viet Nam War 1963 to 1967, he played his steel guitar while there with his band, saved the extra cash to buy land here in Texas. He served out his last Military years in Abilene at Dyess AFB, began farming and ranching operation. He moved down here in 1979 and opened the first of two cattle auction barns, sold these and opened a charter fishing business at Bridge Harbor with ThunderFish charters, built many bulkheads around the area that are still in good service. He was a member of Oyster Creek First Methodist Church. Stan and Fran loved traveling, he took her to Europe, Asia and most all States, they went on many cruises and loved traveling to Colorado.

Stan loved life and love always having something to do.

There will be a visitation on Thursday July 16, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 and a funeral service on Friday, July 17, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Stroud Funeral Home.
