Thelma Ann Westergaard, 90, of Lake Jackson, Tx passed away peacefully on Monday, September 15, 2025, surrounded by her family.

Born on August 10, 1935, in Palacios, Tx, Thelma was the daughter of James and Mary Lamb. Thelma married her husband, Milton Westergaard, on September 3, 1954, and together they raised 4 children and created a faith filled family in a Christ centered home.

Thelma was a devoted wife, mother and Granny whose greatest joy came from spending time with her family. She especially cherished big gatherings with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In her early years, she enjoyed working at Soloman’s fabric store which helped fulfill her love of sewing and crocheting.

She retired after many years of baking at Rasco middle school and Lake Jackson Intermediate school as a pastry cook. She continued to bake and share her love for others through food.

She enjoyed teaching classes at her church. She taught the 2- and 3-year-old Sunday school class for 30 years.

She was proceeded in death by her husband, Milton; her parents, James and Mary Lamb; sisters, Dora Ingvardsen, Johnnie Ray and Frankie Abbey; son, Milton Westergaard Jr; great-grandson, Marshall Sims; son-in-law, Larry Stowers.

Thelma’s legacy lives on through her children: Terri Stowers, Kin Roy and Lisa Westergaard, Tracy Westergaard, and Margaret Hammons, who was married to her late son, Milton Jr; Sister, Barbara June Currier; Grandchildren; Joey Stowers, Mary Sims, Sheri Frankum, Jessica Westergaard, Tony Westergaard and Dougy Stowers; 9 great-grandchildren and many cherished nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be her grandson’s and great-grandsons. Dougy Stowers, Hank Frankum, James Sims, Elijah Frankum, Samuel Sims and Joey Stowers. The honorary pallbearer will be Tony Westergaard.

A celebration of Thelma’s life will be held on Monday, September 22, 2025, visitation at 12:00pm and a funeral service at 1:00pm at Stroud Funeral Home at 531 N Hwy 288B Clute, Tx 77531 with burial to follow at Restwood Cemetary 1038 W Plantation Dr, Clute, Tx 77531. Bro. Timothy Wiebe officiating.
