On September 23, 2025, Blake O’Brian Forbes passed away at home in Lake Jackson, TX, of liver cancer. He was born in Freeport, TX, and grew up in Lake Jackson. Blake is survived by son Brian T. Spinks; parents Dianne and Keith Forbes; sister Brook Forbes Johnson; nephew Jacob Johnson, his wife Megan Johnson, great-nephew Samuel, and great-niece Lorelei; niece Nora Johnson, her husband Matthew Menendez, and great-niece Marceline; niece Mollie Johnson and partner Dylan Van Demark; and extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by brother-in-law Rodney Johnson.

Blake was an artist; his preferred media were painting, drawing, and metalworking. He liked working on cars and motorcycles and designing artwork on motorcycle tanks. Blake spent many years living at Lake Limestone. He loved nature and plants, especially trees, and fishing. When he went blind several years before his death, his main interest shifted to designing the perfect sound environment.  Blake was a perfectionist and an in-depth researcher.  He had a heart for older people. He had a good singing voice and made up songs for fun and to please those he cared about. Blake had a philosophical bent and enjoyed a good conversation. In accordance with his wishes, no funeral or memorial service will be held.
