In Loving Memory of Sulema G. Moreno
Sulema G. Moreno, 69, of Freeport, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on June 29, 1957, in Port Lavaca, Texas, to the late Alvino and Julia Guajardo.
Sulema was a devoted mother to her two children, Celeste and Rudy Moreno Jr., and a proud grandmother to her cherished granddaughters, Ivory and Isabel Moreno, who were the light of her life.
She dedicated many years of service working at JCPenney and also enjoyed caring for others as a Medical Assistant. She took pride in her work and was known for her kindness, compassion, and willingness to help those around her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Rudy Moreno; her parents, Alvino and Julia Guajardo; and her sister, Barbara G. Hernandez and her brother, Jesse Guajardo.
She is survived by her loving children, Celeste and Rudy Moreno Jr.; her granddaughters, Ivory and Isabel Moreno; and her siblings, Gracie B. Garcia, Alvino Guajardo Jr., Julian Guajardo, Esquiel Guajardo, and Danny Guajardo. She also leaves behind 15 cherished nieces and nephews from her side of the family and 19 nieces and nephews from her husband’s side, all of whom she loved dearly.
Sulema had a heart of gold and never hesitated to help anyone in need. She was strong, independent, and always ready for her next shopping trip. She loved spending time with her family, shopping, traveling, and trying her luck at the casino. More than anything, she treasured the time she spent with the people she loved. Her warm smile, generous spirit, and caring heart touched everyone who knew her.
Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that her love, strength, and the countless memories she created will live on in all of us. Her legacy of kindness, resilience, and unconditional love will never be forgotten.

There will be a visitation on Monday July 27, 2026 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 with a rosary recited at 6:30 p.m. and a Funeral service on Tuesday July 28, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Stroud Funeral Home. Internment will be at, Restwood Memorial Park in Clute.
