Clifford Wayne Moss, 62, of Richwood, Texas, passed away on August 29, 2026.
Clifford (Cliff) was born on December 26, 1963, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, to Clyde and Peggy Moss. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, friend, and proud American whose memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Cliff shared 36 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Lisa Moss. They were inseparable and built a life together filled with love, family, friendship, and countless memories. Lisa was not only his wife, but his lifelong partner and best friend. Their love and devotion to one another were a beautiful part of Clifford’s life and will remain a lasting part of his legacy. Together they had two children, Taylor (Moss) Harris and Cooper Moss.
Cliff worked for Dow Chemical beginning in 1990, where he built a long and meaningful career. He took pride in his work and in the many friendships he formed throughout the years.
Cliff loved many things in life, including his Houston Astros, Oklahoma Sooners, fishing, hunting, and America. He loved spending time with his family and friends and had a way of making people feel welcomed, loved, and cared for. He treasured the relationships he built throughout his life and was loved by so many.
But perhaps the greatest joy of his life was being “Poppit” to his three grandchildren. Bryllar Slaughter, Cole Moss, and Wyatt Harris were his whole world. There was nothing more important to him than his grandkids, and he cherished every moment he was able to spend with them. He loved them fiercely and unconditionally and took immense pride in watching them grow. Whether they were making memories, laughing, spending time outdoors, or simply being together, Cliff treasured every moment. His grandchildren knew how deeply they were loved, and they will carry that love with them for the rest of their lives. The special bond he shared with each of them will never be replaced, and the memories they made with their Poppit will forever hold a special place in their hearts.
Cliff is survived by his loving wife, Lisa Moss; his daughter, Taylor Harris, and her husband, AG Harris; and his son, Cooper Moss, and his fiancée, Jennifer Lawson. He is also survived by his sister, Anne Wing; his three beloved grandchildren, Bryllar Slaughter, Cole Moss, and Wyatt Harris; as well as numerous extended family members, friends, and loved ones.
Clifford was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Peggy Moss; his older brother, Robert Moss.
Above all, Cliff will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, caring uncle, loyal friend, and a man who loved deeply. His absence will be felt deeply, but the love he gave and the memories he created will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
A public viewing will be held on Friday, September 4, 2026, from 3- 4 p.m. at Stroud Funeral Home, 538 N. Hwy 288B, Clute, TX 77531. A service celebrating Cliff’s life will follow from 4–5 p.m. at Stroud Funeral Home.
