Mike was born in Sweeny, TX on February 15, 1966, to Karen Frankum Ryman and Russell Ryman and he was called home to Heaven on October 14, 2025. Mike was raised in Brazoria, TX and graduated from Columbia High School. He worked for BASF Corporation for the last 25 years and during that time was when he met and married his soulmate, Jennifer.
Mike was a man of great integrity and steady faith, whose love for his family was evident in everything he did. A devoted Astros baseball and college football fan, he could often be found with a game on and a good book on his Kindle nearby. Always ready for an adventure, Mike rarely passed up a chance to go fishing. Sometimes it was more fishing than catching, but those times together were still precious to him and his family. In recent years, he took pride in perfecting his barbecue skills, especially his delicious ribs that had become a family favorite. Having a playful side to his personality, he enjoyed pulling lighthearted tricks on others (especially Jennifer), but those who knew him learned to watch closely for the twitch of his lip, the unmistakable sign that some classic Mike mischief was in progress. His absence leaves us all with hearts that feel broken but also with hope in the knowledge that we will see him again someday.
Mike is survived by his wife, Jennifer Ryman, daughter Hannah Ryman (Cody), daughter Jessica Blalock (Kyle), grandson Mason Blalock, granddaughter Emily Blalock, mother Karen Ryman, brother Kirk Ryman, brother Nathaniel Ryman, niece Breanna Ryan, great-nephew Zane Ryan, sister-in-law Brenda Caldwell (Greg), sister-in-law Laverne Buchanan (Horace), brother-in-law Ed Netzel (Judy), numerous cousins and other beloved family members, and loyal companions Bella, Clyde, and PupPup.
Mike was preceded in death by his father Russell Ryman, grandparents Sam and Marie Frankum, grandparents Frank and Virginia Ryman, and several uncles, aunts, and cousins.
