Alberto Peña was born on July 12, 1965, in Falfurrias, Texas, and passed away on September 18, 2026, in Clute, Texas, at the age of 61. Alberto will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.
Alberto was a beloved brother, uncle, father, family member, and friend. He was someone who truly enjoyed spending time with his family and making memories with the people he loved. He especially enjoyed playing sports with the family and was well known in the community for umpiring local baseball league games.
Anyone who knew Alberto knew he could always bring laughter and entertainment wherever he went. He was often the life of family gatherings and could always be counted on to make everyone laugh. Some of the family’s most cherished memories are of Loteria nights at Grandma’s, where everyone knew Alberto as the loud and unforgettable card caller who made sure the whole room could hear him. Whether he was calling out Loteria cards, joking around with the family, or getting up to dance to Elvis Presley’s “Jailhouse Rock,” Alberto knew how to keep everyone entertained. With his big personality, humor, and laughter, he had a special way of turning simple family moments into memories that would last a lifetime.
He is survived by his siblings, Estella Treviño; Manuel Peña and wife, Anita; Ruben Peña and wife, Martha; Juan Jose Peña; Gloria Gracia and husband, Americo; Celia Calvillo and husband, Sergio; and Felicita Angulo and husband, Edward.
Alberto is also survived by his children, Michael Silbas; Albert Peña Jr and his wife Erica; Chris Peña and wife, Sylvia; and Mariah Peña; and his grandchildren, Klarisa Silbas, Jayden Silbas, Brooklyn Silbas, Ayden Rodriguez, Adalynn Peña, Jacob Cantu, and Athena Zavala, along with his extended family and loved ones.
Alberto was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel Sr. and Celia Peña, as well as Jaine Peña, Enrique Peña, Olympia Alanis, Felix Peña, and Rodolfo Peña; brothers-in-law Robert Treviño and Artemio Alanis; and nephews Andrew M. Alanis, DeVonte Ozuna, and Sidney Mitchelle V.
Although Alberto is no longer with us in person, his laughter, personality, and the memories he created will continue to live on through his family. He will be remembered in the stories shared, the family gatherings, the baseball games, cheering on his Dallas Cowboys, and especially those Loteria nights that simply won’t be the same without hearing Alberto loudly calling out the cards.
His presence will be deeply missed, but the love and laughter he gave his family will never be forgotten.

There will be a visitation on September 26, 2026 from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. with a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. at Stroud Funeral Home.
