Billy (Bill) Joe Shepard, born October 16, 1943 to Joseph and Juanita Shepard in Bay City, TX, caught his “ride home” on October 27, 2026. He had just celebrated his 83rd birthday with his family. He is survived by his wife, Linda, they were married 61 years this past June 12th. They have four children: Billy and wife Deauna Shepard, Molly and husband Brad Caudle, Ben and wife Rhonda Shepard, Samantha and husband Victor Zarate, 9 Grandchildren: Dezi and husband Corey; Jordan and wife Deborah; Aaron and wife Jerica, Tayler and husband Ben, Dylan and wife Tori, Tyler and wife Natalee, Timmy, Gabe, Lucas, 14 Great Grandchildren: Brenden, Cora, Joe, Conner, Beckett, Emma, Gwynn, Zoe, JJ, Hadley, Leighton, Charlie, Thomas, and Lane.
He was an avid fisherman, hunter, and gardener. He served God since he was a young boy and it showed throughout his years on earth. He will surely be missed by his family, his church, and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Juanita Shepard, his sisters Jan Smith and Fran Hoots.
Pallbearers are grandsons, Jordan Shepard, Aaron Shepard, Tyler Shepard, Timmy Shepard, Dylan Caudle, Gabe Zarate, and Lucas Zarate
Visitation will be at Stroud Funeral Home on Friday, October 30th from 1-2pm with service starting at 2pm.
