Joel Carlton Denson, 63, of Clute, Texas passed away on November 21 2023.
After cancer took his body, surely Jesus took his soul.
He was born to wonderful loving parents William “Bill” and Imogene “Jean” Denson in Pasadena Texas.
Joel was beyond dedicated and loyal to everything he attempted.
He started working at a very young age at Pizza Hut, and etc.
He graduated Pasadena high school in 1978 and then began a long career with HISD as a grounds & custodial supervisor.
After his retirement from HISD in 2009 he volunteered at the Food Basket every Tuesday morning.
His “more than hobbies” of music and lawn care are what he is most recently known for.
Joel played with his brother Scott in several bands his whole life and locally and lastly the What’s Left Band. He was a great friend to every local musician.
Joel is survived by his loving wife Janine whom he spent half his life with
and father in-law Julius Kurtz.
His daughter Johnna Sharp, husband Matt and grandkids Mason and Aubrey.
His daughter Jana Matula, husband Rodney and grandkids Cadence and Brody.
Joel is also survived by brother Don Denson and wife Suzanne. His sister Dana and her husband Allan Staib. His sister Becky and husband Jeff Heck. His brother Scott Denson and wife Kim and several nieces and nephews.
Lastly he leaves behind two fur babies Doc and Sally.
Visitation will be November 28th at the Stroud Funeral Home in Clute from
3-4 pm. with service to follow.
Graveside will be in the LaGrange, Texas Cemetery on Wednesday, November 29, at 11:00 a.m.
