Juanita Faye Linnett Barber, 89, of Sweeny, TX passed away at home with her family by her side on October 7, 2024. Juanita was born in Houston, TX on April 13, 1935 to William and Virginia Linnett.

She went to school in West Columbia and then Sweeny. She met her husband Red, of 50 years, and made a life with him. She was always working and helping him, whether with farm life at their home, at the gas station they owned, raising cactus, selling Mexican dresses, and then making and selling wood crafts. All this while raising and caring for their children and enjoying their grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was also a 50 year member of the Eastern Star Chapter 873 and loved cooking and participating at events for the Masonic Lodge. She loved animals of all kinds. Her love of cooking and baking brought her so much pleasure, especially around the holidays

She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Virginia Linnett, husband, Richard (Red) Barber, brothers, Jerry Linnett, and James Linnett.

She is survived by her brother, Bobby Joe Linnett (Irene), children, Ginger Whitley, Katie Hale (Harold), Richard (Bud) Barber (Gay Lynn), grandchildren; Jennifer Walker, Kacie McKelvy, Brandon Barber, Bridget Hale, Robert Whitley, great grandchildren; Danny Carr, Colton Carr, Gavin Carr, Jackson McKelvy, Cameron McKelvy, Nathan McKelvy, Brandon Barber, Jr., Skilar Barber, nieces; Barbi Gannaway, Dana Bond, Misty ONeal.

A visitation will be Saturday, October 12, 2024, at First Methodist Church in Sweeny, Tx at 10:30 with a service to follow at 11:00.
