Lynda Gale Riley, 85, of Texas, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2026. She was born on May 27, 1941, in Corsicana, Texas, to William Franklin Compton and Mary Compton.

Lynda lived a life centered on family, love, and devotion. Her greatest pride and most important role was raising her four children while her husband spent much of his time working offshore. She was the heart of her family, providing strength, stability, and unconditional love. Her dedication and sacrifices helped shape the lives of her children and created a foundation of love that will continue for generations.

Throughout her career, Lynda worked as an office manager in the heavy equipment industry. She was hardworking, dependable, and dedicated in all that she did. However, her most meaningful work was always at home, where she devoted herself to her family and the people she loved.

Lynda is survived by her four children: daughter Shannon and her husband, John Hefner; son Mike and his wife, Debora Riley; son Robert Nelson; and son Patrick and his wife, Marlena Riley. She also leaves behind her seven beloved grandchildren, Jordan Stewart, Tyler Hefner, Gage Nelson, Garrett Nelson, Michael Riley, Macie Riley, and Preston Riley, along with five great-grandchildren who brought additional joy to her life.

She was preceded in death by her father, William Compton; her mother, Mary Erickson, and her husband, Chris; her brothers, Doc Compton and F.L. Compton; and the love of her life of 24 years, Michael J. Riley.

Lynda will be remembered for her selflessness, warmth, and generous spirit. She had a special way of putting others first and showing her love through the countless things she did for those around her. Her strength and compassion were evident in the life she lived and the family she cherished.

Though her family will deeply miss her, the love she shared will never fade. Her legacy lives on through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all those whose lives she touched. The memories she created, the lessons she taught, and the love she gave will remain treasured forever.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at Stroud Funeral Home. Friends and family are welcome to visit beginning at 9:00 a.m., with the funeral service starting at 10:00 a.m. Acting as pall bearers are grandsons Tyler, Gage, Garrett, Michael, Preston, and son-in-law John.

Lynda’s life was filled with love, her family was her greatest treasure, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
