Dolores Salazar, 78, went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 2nd, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 30th, 1948, in the Port of Tampico, Tamaulipas; Mexico.

As a young child, her family moved to Matamoros Tamaulipas because her father took a job there. She attended Incarnate Word Academy in downtown Brownsville, Texas. As a teen, she worked as a Switchboard Operator, and a Hairstylist in Matamoros.

On February 28th, 1974, she married Theodore Salazar in Brownsville, Texas, later having 2 sons. During their married years they traveled with Ted’s work living in most of the United States, Thailand, Russia, Netherlands, Singapore, Malasia, and Holland and her passion became collecting Nativity Scenes from around the world. She later moved to Lake Jackson where she worked for Freeport ISD Special Programs as an Early Childhood Teacher’s Aide for 10 years. When the program was closed, she looked for a new job and was hired at Walmart where she worked for the next 19 years as a Cashier and Door Greeter. She enjoyed her work, talking with everyone, and meeting new people. She also worked at Family Life Church as a Nursery Teacher on Sundays, where she was an avid Church member. During her years living in Lake Jackson, she met with many friends who shared her love with the Lord, she attended churches whenever she was invited, Bible studies, prayer services, and Christian concerts. She was passionate about reading her Bible, listening to Christian music, watching Christian movies and even more passionate about using her gift from the Lord which was Prayer. She was an avid Prayer Warrior!!!! She shared the word of God with many; often gifting Christian books, prayer cards, and gifts that always had a message from the word of God.

Dolores is preceded in death by her parents: Jose Antonio Onate & Alejandra de Luna de Onate; her siblings: Alina Patino, Delia Rivera, Antonio Patino & Leticia Rosembaun; and her baby angel granddaughter Lillyanna Salazar.

Left to cherish her love and memory are her sons Jose Antonio (Martha) Salazar and Ricardo Javier (Claudia) Salazar. The loves of her life, her grandchildren: Ricardo Javier Salazar Jr., Anais Natalia Salazar, Isabela Elisa Salazar, and her honorary grandchildren Kaylee & Kaleb Stevens who held a very special place in her heart. She also had many nieces, nephews, friends, and co-workers who will also miss her dearly.

Visitation will be Thursday July 9th, 2026, from 5:00 – 8:00 pm at Stroud Funeral Home in Clute, Tx with a prayer service to be held at 6:30 pm. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday July 10th, 2026, at 11:00 am at Family Life Church in Lake Jackson.
