Melissa (Missy) Brock, age 55, loving mother to her daughter Dominique, passed away unexpectedly on December 28, 2022.Melissa was born May 6, 1967 in Olney, Texas to Jacob (Buster) and Patricia Brock. Melissa lived in Lake Jackson most of her life, and graduated from Brazoswood High School. In her youth, she enjoyed playing softball as well as many other team sports. She attended college with a softball scholarship, and went on to earn an Associates degree in early childhood development at Brazosport College. Her favorite occupations were working in her flower beds, volunteering, traveling and spending time with her family. She loved playing cards and other family games!
Melissa was predeceased by both parents and nephew Jacob Lane Brock. She cared for her mother (Pat Brock Cayer) until her death in May, 2021.
Melissa is survived by her daughter Dominique Dali of Lake Jackson; her sister Melinda Rosa (husband Jim Rosa) of Bayard, NM; her brother Bradley Brock (wife Britnie) and family of Graham, TX; and five nieces: Randi Stine of Alexandria, VA, Tiffany Harper (husband Jeremy) and family of Clute; Karlee Nantz and family of Graham; Rebekah Rosa (spouse AJ Odasso) of Farmington, NM; and Emily Joy Rosa of Las Cruces, NM. She is also survived by numerous cousins, aunts and uncles, and dear friends.
Melissa truly cared for people and animals. She touched many lives with her generosity and vibrant personality. She will be deeply missed by her friends and family.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. at Stroud Funeral Home.
