Michael “Mike” Ray Miller, 57, passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, after facing significant health challenges over the past two years.
Mike was born on November 13, 1968, in Pasadena, Texas. He grew up in Brazoria County and spent much of his adult life traveling for work. He worked a variety of jobs over the years, including as a scaffold builder, and always went where the work took him.
While Mike often kept to himself, he genuinely enjoyed family gatherings and looked forward to spending time with those he loved. Whether it was sharing stories, laughing together, or simply being surrounded by family, those moments brought him happiness. His nieces and nephews always held a special place in his heart, and they will remember him with love.
Mike was preceded in death by his wife, Sherry Miller; his mother, Deb Miller; his biological mother, Shelley Faucett; his grandparents, Ellen and James Miller, Jaycee and Dena Rounsaville, and Edward Charles Hurta Jr.; his aunts, Kara Miller, Sharon Wilson, Gail Wall, and Sarah Roderick; and his uncle, Ray Roderick.
He is survived by his father, Ronnie Miller; his daughter, Kara Ann; his sisters, Tammy Miller-Cruz and her husband, Jose, and Amy Miller-Morris and her husband, Sean; his brothers, James Miller, Ronnie Hunter and his wife, Ahna, and Justin Hunter and his wife, Michelle.
Mike also leaves behind the nieces and nephews he loved dearly: Kyle, Kaitlyn, Kaylen, Ahna, Brendan, Damian, Peightyn, Kaylee, Rebekha, Presley, Ryanna, Kaden, Kentleigh, and Lexi; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Carter, Kyler, Kameron, and Beaux; his uncles, Ed Hurta III and his wife, Dawn; Robert Hurta Sr. and his wife, Elicha; Marty Miller and his wife, Joy; along with numerous cousins, extended family members, and friends who will forever hold his memory close.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 20, 2026, at Stroud Funeral Home. Visitation will take place from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., with funeral services immediately following. Interment will be held at Gulf Prairie Cemetery in Jones Creek, Texas.
Mike’s passing comes just seven months after the loss of his mother, Deb, making this another heartbreaking chapter for the Miller family. While losing them both in such a short time has left an immeasurable void, the family finds comfort in knowing they are together again, at peace, and free from pain.
