Quintin Kirk, of Angleton, Texas, passed away peacefully at his home on October 19, 2024.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude D. and Jennie Pearl Kirk, his wife, Katherine L. Kirk and brother David Kirk.
Quintin was born February 28, 1935 in San Benito, Texas to C.D. Kirk and Jennie Pearl Kirk where his parents owned a citrus farm in the Lower Rio Grande Valley. In 1946 when Quintin was 11, the family sold the citrus farm and moved to Kerrville, Texas where they owned and operated the Hilltop Hotel and restaurant. Quintin graduated from Kerrville High School and the University of Houston. After college, Quintin joined the Houston Police force and did a stint as an officer with VICE. He also spent 6 years as a Commissioned Officer with the U.S. Army Reserves.
Quintin moved his family to Angleton, Texas in 1970 while working in the insurance business. Eventually, he and his wife, Kathy, opened their own insurance claims business. Quintin was very involved with the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Department, retiring in June 2015 as Lieutenant after 28 years of faithful service as a reserve officer. Quintin was also a member and served as both President and Treasurer for the Gulf Coast Rescue Squad. He was a proud lifetime member of both the National Rifle Association and Texas Rifle Association.
Quintin is survived by his children Perry Kirk (Ruby) of the Philippines, Laura Wiseman (Rodney) of Lake Jackson and Paul Kirk of Rosharon, his grandchildren Jon Michael Thompson, Meghann Kingsbury, Nathan Kirk, Garret Hagemeier, Kaitlin Farmer, Austin Kirk, Cole Wiseman and Jammar Wiseman, twelve great grandchildren and numerous extended family members.
The family would like to especially thank Christi Morrow who has been his caretaker and helped immensely over the past months.
A small immediate family memorial will be held at a future date to bury Quintin’s ashes with his wife Kathy.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Brazoria County SPCA or Brazoria County Rescue Squad in Quintin Kirk’s name.
