On Monday September 4, 2023, Raymond Eusaria Olivarez (Bunny), husband, beloved father and Popo went to be with his Heavenly Father and the Virgin Mary at the age of 72.
Raymond was born on September 14, 1950, in Beeville, TX to Raymond Olivarez and Christella Martinez. He was proud to serve in The United States Marine Corps (Semper Fidelis, Always Faithful) from the years 1972-1978. In 1973, he married Dolores Mary Garza and together they raised 3 daughters, Betty Jo, Betsy Lou and Michelle Lee.
Raymond was an avid music lover and took every opportunity to sing, dance or play the guitar and drums. He loved spending time with his family and adored his grandchildren. His favorite moments were watching the Houston Astros with a cold beer or having his morning coffee on the front porch. His sweet tooth meant the house always had cake, cookies, candy or ice-cream secretly stored for the grandkids.
Raymond is survived by his wife Mary Dolores Olivarez, his children Jeffrey Olivarez, Betty Olivarez, Betsy Mata (Sigifredo Mata), and Michelle Rodriguez (David Rodriguez), his grandchildren Freddy Olivarez (Korinna Gonzalez), Abigayle Gabaldon (Alfredo Gabaldon), Dorsey Rodriguez, Cynthia Maldonado, Gabriella Mata, Esperanza Rodriguez, David Rodriguez Jr., and Khaleesi Maldonado, and his great grandchildren Avia Olivarez, AJ Gabaldon, Gabriel Olivarez, Aubrielle Gabaldon, Da’Lana Rodriguez, Alaia Isais and Sylvie Olivarez.
Ray is also survived by Abraham Presa Sr., Diana Carr, Melissa Anderson, Anna Marie Vasquez, Helen Qsada, and brothers, Abraham Presa Jr. and Ronnie Presa.
He is preceded by his grandparents Pedro and Nelle Martinez, parents Raymond Olivarez and Christella Presa and brother Micheal Olivarez.

There will be a visitation on Thursday, September 7, 2023 at Stroud Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. And a graveside service at Houston National Cemetery, on Friday, September 8, 2023 at 9:15 a.m.
