Timothy “Paul” Stallberg was born on April 26, 1976, at Brazosport Hospital in Freeport, Texas. Paul attended Brazosport Christian School and later Brazoswood High School, where he graduated.
On September 16, 2026, Paul passed away peacefully, surrounded by the people who loved him most, after a very courageous battle with cancer. Or, as Paul would have preferred us to tell it, a shark attack.
Paul was a devoted husband, loving father and family man, loyal friend, proud U.S. Army veteran, and dedicated law enforcement officer. His life was defined by service, loyalty, courage, humor, and an unwavering commitment to the people he loved and the community he served.
Paul had a way of leaving a lasting impression on the people fortunate enough to know him. Behind the badge was a man who loved deeply, stood firmly beside the people he cared about, and could always be counted on when someone needed him. He could make people laugh, and even during some of life’s hardest moments, his personality and sense of humor remained unmistakably Paul.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army before continuing his life of service in law enforcement. Protecting and serving others wasn’t simply a career for Paul; it was part of who he was. To his fellow officers, he was a brother. To his friends, he was loyal and dependable. And to his family, he was simply Paul, the man they loved, laughed with, leaned on, and will miss more than words can express.
Paul was preceded in death by his stepmother, Linda Sims; his paternal grandparents, Lloyd and Marie Stallberg; and his maternal grandparents, Gene and Louise McDaniel.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Samantha Stallberg; his children, Andrew, Dustin, Devin, Taylor, Damon, Mila, Buddy, and Charlie; his father, Wayne Stallberg and wife, Linda; his mother, Rita Stallberg; his brother, Lance and wife, Sarah, and their children, Reed and Jack; his brother, Chad and wife, Clara, and their children, Isabella and Danny; along with numerous extended family members and friends who will continue to carry his memory with them.
Although his life ended far too soon, the impact Paul made during his 50 years will continue through the family he loved, the friendships he built, the officers who served beside him, and the countless lives he touched along the way.
Paul will be remembered not for the cancer he fought, but for the life he lived, a life filled with service, courage, loyalty, laughter, love, and devotion to family and community. And, if Paul has anything to say about it, we’re sticking with the shark story.
A celebration of life will be held at the Brazoria County Fairgrounds on Sunday, September 27, 2026 at 2:00 P.M.
